Adorable Talented 3rd Level Dressage Pony seeks capable small adult or teen for Dressage adventures. Gavotte AKA Otto is a 14h 6yo gelding. He is sturdily built with super gaits and talent for collection. He is sweet and well mannered. Ships, bathes, etc with ease. He is easy to have in the barn and plays well with others. At only 6 he is already confident in all of the lateral work and schools solidly at 3rd level with a green flying change. He is wonderfully forward without being spooky or naughty. Unfortunately lack of time forces sale as he does best in a consistent program. Best match is a confident rider who is schooling solidly at 1st level or above as while he is honest he does best with clear direction and support.
Lucky Fellow - SOLD
Lucky Fellow is a 12 year old, 15.1h chestnut gelding with chrome. This little QH thinks he is a big WB! Great gaits, active hind end, super balance, free shoulders and snappy little hocks all in a cute package with a unique blonde tail. He has three comfortable gaits and is easy to sit with lots of suspension in his trot. Fellow flunked out of western training as a youngster but he was discovered several years ago by a dressage trainer and he found his calling! Ready to show first level with confidence and schooling second with easy shoulder in and lateral work. Absolutely sound, super manners, bombproof on the trails, and although inexperienced he also shows talent over fences. While he is a safe and forgiving ride he isn’t suitable for a total beginner as he expects his rider to give him clear direction. This is a horse you will simply love going to the barn to ride every day! Priced to sell at $16,000.
Liberty Bell -- SOLD
Lovely 2011 16h AHS premium mare by Liberty Gold for sale. This mare had many wins on the line as a baby including DSH Breed HOY as a 2yo. Breeder had planned to retain her as her personal riding horse but personal circumstances have required the sacrifice of this special mare. Belle possesses 3 lofty correct gaits and has unquestionable FEI talent. She was started late as a 4yo and then has been very lightly ridden since. She is nicely forward, soft in the bridle, and good on the leg and seat. In the trot she gives her rider a wonderful feel and she can already perform nice leg yields as well as shoulder and haunches in or lengthening. She is still finding her balance in canter and is working on perfecting her lengthening and shallow loop at that gait. Belle has wonderful manners, is sound and healthy, and has no vices. No buck/bolt/rear although she can be a bit looky due to her inexperience so currently best suited to a confident capable rider.
Zanzibar (Zane) -- SOLD
3rd level dressage, 14.2h Morgansteiner. Zane is a 12yo 14.2h gelding. He is half Morgan and half Holsteiner. Our little Morgansteiner is schooling a solid third level with expressive extensions, supple and flowing lateral work, and a nice green flying change. Zane has a wonderful temperament, superb manners, and has never been lame or sick. He is easy to bathe, trailer, and clip. He possesses three lovely warmblood quality gaits, and he loves to hack in the woods. Zane has shown second level at USDF shows this past summer scoring in the high 60s and consistently winning his classes against the big warmbloods. He just returned from the East Coast Pony Cup where he was champion at second Level and he is currently second in the country for dressage ponies at second level. He is delightfully responsive to ride, forward and in front of the aids without being overly sensitive. He never spooks, even at the shows, and he has never bucked, reared, or bolted. He loves to work and approaches every ride with a can do attitude and tries so hard to please. He is currently schooling pirouette canter, and has started half steps and loves it! He would be a wonderful partner for a junior or petite amateur who wants a reliable friend to learn the lateral work and to gain confidence at the shows. While he is very safe because Zane a fairly forward ride he would be best suited to a rider who is ready to ride first level work or above.
Anika KT -- SOLD
A jet black mare, registered Canadian Warmblood, standing 15.3 hands, and 8 years old. Her sire VDL Arctic (by Indoctro) is a champion KWPN jumper and on her dam side you see A and D Hanoverian lines as well as Holsteiner. Anika is a kind, well mannered mare, who is sound and healthy with no vices. She was a favorite of her breeder and was to be kept for the broodmare band (has had 2 foals) but her breeder has retired so this lovely mare is now able to have a performance career. Under saddle she is a pleasure; confident and well balanced with three excellent gaits. She has an excellent work ethic with good rideability and is currently solidly working first level with super transitions, leg yield, and counter canter. She showed first level this summer with scores in the 70's. She improves daily and has the temperament and athleticism to go to the FEI. She is a quiet type who is tolerant of rider mistakes. Anika also shows talent over fences and although she has only jumped a couple of times she is very honest, careful, and calm over fences. This mare is priced to sell quickly and is a super fancy amateur or junior mount.
Celine Q.V. -- SOLD
7yo 16.2h Canadian WB mare. Celine is a pretty CWB mare by the Holsteiner stallion Carthago Sun (shown jumping in pic). She is a refined mare who has an exceptionally gentle, calm and sweet nature. Celine is extremely smooth easy and well balanced. She is light off the leg and is a very pleasant and uncomplicated ride. She is tolerant of rider mistakes and in her work she simply always puts in a good effort. She has 3 lovely gaits with a particularly balanced and steady canter. She is in professional training. In 2014 she showed in the baby greens with many class wins and went reserve of the division several times. She will be ready to step into the amateur owner 3' hunter classes next season for sure. This mare is particularly kind, with no mareish behavior ever. She is simply quiet and easy in most every circumstance. No spooking or bad behavior EVER, Celine is surely an amateur rider’s dream horse. She was recently even used for an 8year old little girl just learning to trot to gain confidence and she was perfect. This mare is sound, athletic, pretty, and if you look really closely you can see the halo over her head. Just coming off a lease and priced to sell quickly.
Mercedes -- SOLD
16h 5YO Dutch WB x Lusitano mare.
Mercedes is a very kind, sweet young mare who has been slowly and correctly started. She is by the Lusitano stallion Saphiro out of a Dutch WB mare and is registered IALHA. Her breeding combines the best of both breeds...she has the calm temperament and ability to collect from the lusitano and the size and lengthening ability from her Dutch WB mother. She has 3 very correct gaits that are naturally balanced, cadenced, and smooth to sit. She is soft and supple in the contact and tries hard in her work. She is currently ready to show training level and is schooling some of first. Perfect manners, sound, healthy, and ready to build a partnership with someone. While she is still fairly inexperienced she is a safe ride for her age with no buck, bolt, rear, etc.
Obidiah -- SOLD
Obadiah is a 7yo. 16+h Morgan X Hanoverian gelding. This is a pretty cool horse, we call him a Morgaverian. He is athletic with 3 above average gaits and nice potential. Handsome and strongly built. Confident and not spooky. Has just completed 6 months of professional training and is a very focused student and learns quickly. He currently schooling first level, and does a nice shoulder in and even a half pass in trot, finding the lateral work easy. He enjoys hacking and cavaletti work and willingly jumps a cross rail. Good manners, easy keeper, no health or soundness issues. He is a safe ride with no buck, rear, bolt. Does best with a rider already competent at keeping a horse round in his canter work as he can still get a bit unbalanced in that gait without some half halts and support. He is also quite stout so if you're looking for a smaller horse this one rides bigger than his actual height of 16 1/2 hands. Neat horse for someone wanting a well rounded partner for adventures. Located in Claverack NY. I have new training horses and he won't get the time he deserves.
Rialto -- SOLD
Rialto is a half Holsteiner x Welsh gelding standing 14.1h and 10 years old. Rio has taken his AA Vintage rider to wins at second level and has schooled to fourth with easy laterals and tempis. He has wonderful manners and is simply a pleasure to be around and train. Absolutely no vices, reliable at the shows, clips, loads, bathes, turns out alone or with others. Sound and healthy although just coming off 3 months rest from popping a splint (has been cleared 100% by the vet and there are no future soundness concerns radiographs available). Easy in the snaffle or double, super changes including tempis up to threes, easy laterals and half passes are so simple. Suitable for all but the most timid rider.
Leila WF (Willow) -- SOLD
2003 16.2h Han. Mare Perfect Schoolmistress! Willow is a small bodied modern type mare, approved AHS main studbook. This mare is so sweet and greets “her” human with a nicker. She is absolutely sound (no maintenance ever), has no vices, and is truly a barn favorite. Under saddle she has 3 lovely gaits that are easy to sit and she is very attentive to her rider. Willow is solidly schooling 3rd level with a nice single change, her half passes are easy, and she is able to do pirouette quality canter steps. She spent last summer leased to an AA and has shown 1st and 2nd level with her, earning a median final score of 69% and winning high score awards, Dover medals, and was Reserve Champion AHS All Breeds and top 10 AA and Vintage rider horse at first level. Her top placings at Region 8 Championships (4th out of 54 riders) earned her an invitation to USDF Nationals 1st and 2nd Levels. While this mare is absolutely reliable and steady at the shows she would rather not be your trail horse at home, preferring to work in the arena. Perfect horse to teach you the ropes of showing and lateral work and well suited to all but the most timid rider.
